COBO CRICKET CLUB
Cobo Cricket Club established in 1957 are the longest standing stand alone cricket club in Guernsey. The foundations of the club go back to a couple of years earlier to when a group of lads – Maurice Le Huray and the Batiste brothers of John, Brian and Don – started playing cricket on the commons at Vazon and Cobo. After a game, they would head to the Rockmount for a drink and started talking about cricket to others in the bar. Soon they had garnered enough interest to get a team together. The club has recently hosted its 60th year anniversary and continues to be one of Guernsey's main cricket clubs.
Cobo Cricket Club boast two mens teams, one of which plays in the top flight of Guernsey and the other plays in the 4th tier of Guernsey Cricket. The second team largely consists of a development tea making a seamless transition from junior cricket to adult cricket.
Cobo Cricket Club have over 60 junior members who are registered to the club. They have side from under 11's all the way up to under 15's who take part in the Guernsey Junior Cricket Leagues. The club also consists of several qualified coaches.
Cobo Cricket Club have been one of the leading clubs in Guernsey Cricket for the past 60 years. The club has twenty evening league titles, 11 Weekend League crowns, 15 GCA Cups and a couple of Channel Islands Club Championships
